A Message From The Director!
Our primary goal at Covered Bridge is to glorify God. We strive, to the best of our ability, to do God’s will God’s way. When a resident turns from a lifetime of sin and his character begins to reflect God’s image, God is glorified. Each man’s journey is different but the agents of changes are the same: God’s Word, God’s spirit (a new nature), repentance, and full submission to God’s will. The evidence this is working is a hunger and thirst after righteousness, leading to brotherly kindness and love. For without love undergirded by truth, we are ”clanging cymbals.” We are “all in” at Covered Bridge, engaging the Great Commission and advancing God’s kingdom, one resident and one relationship at a time. To God be the glory; great things He has done.
God continues to supply the needs at Covered Bridge through His people. Our budgeted needs are projected to be met until December. Along with next year’s budget requirements, we do have additional needs for which to raise funds: a sunroom roofing project of $1500, 15 new windows for $4500, plumbing upgrades of $1500, and a widened driveway (cost to be determined). Any help would be appreciated to meet these needs.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support for us at Covered Bridge. We are grateful for your partnership in leading men to true freedom in Christ.
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light”
-1 Peter 2:9
My name is Francis Daniel Dupre and I was born in Rutland, Vermont on September 8th, 1955. Tragedy struck early in my life with the passing of my mother at the age of 6, leaving me to be raised by an alcoholic father.
I lived with him until lung cancer took him when I was 15 years old. During this time, I was already well on my way to lawlessness and learning the ways of the world. During my travels and escapades, I was witness to friends overdosing or passing away from street drugs, and I wanted no part of that. Thus began my relationship with prescription drugs, the so-called “safe route.”
I was homeless but never on the streets because I was good at acquiring prescriptions, and bartering for my lifestyle. After decades of living this way, going in and out of rehabs,
I again found myself leaning on vices at a motel in Stowe, VT.
It was at this motel that I was introduced to Pastor David Piers from the Covered Bridge, who in kindness, set up a meeting and interview for me to begin residency.
I came to Covered Bridge on January 4th, 2023 to begin the transformative works that my life so desperately needed. Since coming to Covered Bridge, I’ve been blessed in my discipleship time during groups, and have focused on putting my health as a priority. I am also blessed to have the opportunity to be part of the music ministry at UBC!
God has sought me out and brought me to Covered Bridge – setting me back on the path He started me on so many years ago.
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
-1 Corinthians 13:13
On August 10th, Covered Bridge had the opportunity to help a dearly loved family make their long-anticipated move to Pennsylvania. This honoring event was also a somber one — saying goodbye to some genuine folks that have been such a huge part of the Covered Bridge Ministry.
Wally and Lois Knight have been ardent supporters of our ministry in many different forms for more than a decade. It started off small – volunteering to supervise the house and in general being supportive to the residents.
This eventually grew into helping with transportation. helping men with odd-job work opportunities, supporting Celebrate Recovery, and even bringing the residents to a men’s weekend retreat at Mount Monadnock.
Wally could often be found in our living room or at the dining room table doing crosswords with residents or simply talking, discipling, and, of course, joking!
Wally & Lois dedicated their time, finances, prayers. and love to Covered Bridge. The Knights simply loved people and loved to help people. They are surely missed.
This year’s Giving Tuesday lands on November 28th, and we are actively pursuing options for matching donations. Please stay up-to-date by following our our Facebook page!

I pray that I continue to deny self, stay Christ-centered, and keep my affections set on things above. I pray also for an affordable automobile. I praise God, and give him all the glory for my education in His Word while here at Covered Bridge. As my stay comes to a close, I also praise Him and give Him all the glory for me closing in on getting my driver’s license back. I pray that by mid-September I will have a driver’s license for the first time in eight years.

I’ll be 68 on the 8th of September! God has kept me alive a lot longer than I thought He would and is still using me in ministry, which is most exciting! Please pray for my health- that my COPD and diabetes would improve.
William
I ask for prayer with my vertigo and dizziness, as well as wisdom for the doctors helping me. I praise God for bringing me back to Covered Bridge and accountability.
Duane
Please pray for me to keep God first in my life, enabling me to become a Godly husband, father, and grandfather to my family. I praise you, Lord, for bringing your Holy Spirit into my heart and opening my eyes, and all the other things that you can do for me that I never realized before!
